Acknowledgements - How the Stars Fall
By Sarah C. Davies
I remember when I was younger; I wrote a book that had about five words on each page and my friend Anna drew the pictures for me. To this day, I still have it.
I always knew I wanted to write stories from a very young age, it just took until I was thirty-six to find the stories inside me. The day I took the leap into making this happen was the day I finished reading a fantasy romance I’d randomly bought in a bookstore one day. That book helped me rediscover my love for fantasy and the endless worlds that could be imagined. Magical tales woven with romance, action and mysteries. A place where powerful men and women went on adventures, and where I could escape reality and join them.
To my readers. I hope you know that no matter what stage in life you are at that you are always worthy of love. I hope you read this and find joy, spreading it to others around you. Thank you for encouraging me to keep writing my cosy, romantasy books.
To my husband Jared. My rock and my safe place. You have held me when I’ve cried and almost given up. You have encouraged me to keep going and always supported my dreams. Thank you for believing in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself. You have shown me that the men I write in my stories are actually real. You are my perfect man. Without you, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Thanks for all the donuts. I love you.
To my beautiful children, Charleston and Meadow. Thank you for being patient with me through the tough times. You are both sunshine in my days and I love the joy you bring to everyone around you. Never give up on your dreams. I love you both so much.
To my darling Megan. I would need thousands of pages to write everything I would like to say to you. You’ve changed my life in ways I can’t explain. Thank you for walking with me on this journey, for your endless support and your beautifully intricate mind. Thank you for staying up until the early hours of the morning with me, and most of all, thank you for every word you suggested and every comma you added to this story. It wouldn’t be where it is now without you. You are pure sunshine. I love you.
To my Kindred Spirit Alex (AllyCat). Who would have thought that an image of a Motionless In White concert would join two souls together. Both which have a love for emo music, writing and staying indoors with a cosy book. You have such a gift when it comes to writing, a gift that doesnt go un-noticed. Thank you for all your incredible input into this story and for encouraging me when I wanted to give up. I’ll leave the light on for you. I love you.
To the Coven, Jems, Leah, Steph, Diana, Iesha and Chelle. Thank you for your friendships, for your encouragement and for helping me to believe in myself. Our silly conversations have been a breath of fresh air, exactly what my heart has needed. Thank you for being the best beta readers an author could ask for. Thank you for all the wisdom and joy you bring to the book world and mine. I love you all.
To Lucy and Keziah. Thank you for always supporting me no matter what new project I started or became obsessed with, despite the other thousands I already had on the go. The interest you have both continually shown in my stories hasn’t gone unnoticed. Thank you for always showing up for me and for loving me right where I’m at. I wouldn’t be where I am today without you both. I love you.
To Jenny. Thank you for taking a chance on me and introducing me into the world of books. Thank you for all of your guidence and wisdom as I have travelled this path, and most of all. Thank you for your kindness.
