Afterword - The Missing Piece

The fourth of February is the start of spring.
With the return of spring, everything refreshes again.
I always like spring. It’s a gentle season. Tender winds in spring are intoxicating. So I set Mr. Ji’s birthday on the start of spring.
When I began to write this story, the character of Mr. Ji was actually quite vague to me. Such a beginning just suddenly came to my mind, so I wrote it down casually. I did not know what would happen in Chapter Two even when I had finished Chapter One. So at the very beginning, Mr. Ji was only a handsome figure. He’s proud and indifferent; he had great control over the things around him. Shen Mo often felt him temperamental and unpredictable when getting along with him. In the chapter when Zhao Yi appeared on the scene, Mr. Ji put on the cuff-links Shen Mo chose and introduced Shen Mo as “the future Mrs. Ji”. It was then that I suddenly realized that Mr. Ji loved Shen Mo all along!
The following plots also flowed reasonably, Mr. Ji began to reveal his heart. Dull as Shen Mo was, he inevitably indulged in such tenderness. But when Shen Mo walked into the Jinxiu Villa and saw the room filled with paintings for the first time, I hit the wall. It was too difficult to handle the flashbacks, I stopped serializing for more than half a year and once wanted to leave it unfinished. However, I finally decided to give the two an end.
When I began to write about the memories, it was not as difficult as I thought it would be. Things happened naturally when Shen Mo got along with Mr. Ji. Although Shen Mo lost his memories, his heart was always determined—who he loved was the one that saved him in danger. Later the two met again in the island; it was then that he finally plucked up the courage and drew his own heart on Mr. Ji’s palm.
There were actually many regrets in the ending part. I thought I ended it too fast and was not able to write down much content. But this is only the end of the book; the story between Mr. Ji and Shen Mo is still happening.
I like many plots of the book, but what I like the most is always this one:
Mr. Ji introduced Shen Mo casually and naturally, “He’s the future Mrs. Ji.”
—He had long known that the person was the one.
Here’s the end the postscript. I added some Extra Fragments at the end. Enjoy reading^_^
