Acknowledgements - Sparks Will Fly

Thank you the people in combat robotics at every level of competition that inspired this and made me adore a sport for the first time. Seeing people’s passion, joy, and all the people who fell in love after meeting at competitions was a huge influence on this book. This book started as a joke from my partner after a combat robotics announcer said, "sparks will fly!" Now there's a whole love story and it just made me fall in love with combat robotics even more.

Thank you to Freja for lending me your robotics expertise. I learned so much and had so much fun. Anything inaccurate in building, design, or anything else related to the robots is entirely on me.

While this book showcases bad medical professionals, there are incredible people out there. Without the doctors, occupational/physical therapists, mental health professionals, and other professionals that took me seriously, I wouldn't have been able to write this book for so many reasons. Without the disability justice and fat positive communities, I would never have found the peace with my body to be able to write someone like Mari and her story.
