Acknowledgments - Good Boys Don't Bite
By L.A. Barron
This book would not be possible with Jamie Ryu, my editor, who turns my worst mistakes into works of art. Without her, this would truly be illegible in the worst possible way. Contrarian Publishing is truly one of the few who do this industry right, and without them, I would still be writing in an endless chain of Word documents, yearning for the day my stories could appear on more than just my own screen.
Even more personal than the people who actually make this happen, are the people who make sure I don’t lose my mind between day jobs and deadlines:
First, Ashley, Vivian, Victoria, and Erin. How lovely it is to have girlfriends who exemplify self-acceptance and the furious pursuit of being exactly who you are. Thank you for your strength, trust, and gracing me with yourselves. So, about Cgum…
Elizabeth and Tim, who keep me well fed and well loved, my family on the sunset highway.
Eben, of course, who lives and breathes so that I can live and breathe. Mom and dad are so proud of you, and so am I!
My Cas, who tucks me in every night and reminds me to take care of myself, especially on days when I least want to. Without you, I would be significantly more unwell and infinitely less happy.
Darien, Ryan, Alicia, Andrew, Galen, and Will, who keep my imagination bright through our D&D campaigns and their unwavering support of my very silly ideas. I am awed and amazed by you people and I’d be lost without you. Thank you for being mine.
Sam and Noah, the best cousins who I adore more than words. The DNA test may not match up, but everything else certainly does. Thank you for being you, for showing up, and for letting me cook for you during some of the longest, hardest weeks of our lives.
My fellow Contrarian authors, who are also doing this industry right. Your stories are so important, and I’m so much more than honored to be on this roster with you all.
Finally, to the people who enjoy my work. I hope my children look good on your shelves, desks, and bedside tables. I hope they bring you peace, hope, and the fantasy of sick justice we all wish we could enact.
