Epilogue - Eleanor - Purge With My Demons
By Aimee-Jo Hunter
ELEANOR
Everything around me is dark and smells like fire. The veil over my face casts a dreary haze over an already dreary space. Blue flames at my feet continue to burn even though they had no source to burn from. My arms look like they are painted black with iridescent paint. I feel a magnetic pull in my chest toward Owen that’s stronger than before.
“Owen?” I called to him, hoping he could hear me, but wasn’t sure. When I heard nothing after a while, I gave up.
I was tied to a chair in an empty concrete room. There was nothing in here. But I could feel Owen all around me.
“Eleanor?” His voice was faint, but I heard him.
“I’m here!” No response.
A door creaked open on one side of the room. “It is her, I promise you.” I overheard Amon speaking. This demon was terrifying. But he would pay for the shit he put Owen through for so long.
Another voice I didn’t recognize boomed through the room. “What makes you so sure?”
“Just look at her, Mannox.”
I saw the two demons through a haze of blackness. “What is this, Amon?” Mannox demanded.
“Our new queen,” Amon stated. “And my daughter.”
That information struck me like a blow to the back of the head.
“What the fuck have you done, Amon?”
“Exactly what I always planned.” Amon approached me, placed his giant hand on my face. Then everything was dark.
