Chapter 51: Sena - Fated to the Night King
By Krysta Fox
“Sena, please, come in and join us.”
Thalon waved me in as if I was just another courtier. Hugh smirked at me, and the memory of his breath against my skin made me want to gag.
Where he stood, the space where Alkan was kneeling, was instantly recognizable.
My blood had coated the floor there. I’d fought to protect myself, only to have my strength, my will, and even my voice, stripped from me.
His words resounded in my head.
“You will Submit.”
But I wasn’t that woman anymore. I was a wolf, as much as Thalon or Hugh or Cassian.
A wolf defends; a wolf protects.
I would defend those who looked to me.
I would defend my mate.
Cass strode toward me at a look from his father, and I spotted the hesitancy just before his hand wrapped around my bicep. He didn’t hurt me, didn’t squeeze hard enough to bruise. Still, though, he followed his father’s orders as he led me over to where Alkan remained, his body gone unnaturally still.
“This is quite the prize. My own, sweet Stricken, lost and now found, and our enemy, the Night King himself. Knocking at our door in the light of day. A strange twist of events indeed.”
