Acknowledgments - The Girl in Green
By Laura Creedle
I have my best ideas while traveling. This novel came together quickly while I was on a series of road trips with my daughter, Blair Creedle Reynolds. This book wouldn’t exist without her input and generous flow of ideas.
I’ve been lucky to work with Courtney Stevenson twice now. She trimmed this novel with surgical precision and made it so much better. There is nothing in the world that can replace a great editor. My agent, Jim McCarthy, has helped me with the twists and turns of my career—and my life—with thoughtfulness and compassion.
The always delightful Kristin Clifford Creedle helped me find my way into the horror community. She talked me down off the ledge more than once. Thanks to Anna Ravenelle for her kindness and her help, and thanks to Matt Maguda and Michael D’Angelo.
Thanks to Sam Wolfe Connelly for a truly terrifying cover, and to Joel Tippie for a beautiful book. Thanks to production editor Erika West, copyeditor Ashley Yee Wells, and proofreader Ellen Fast. As a dyslexic, I know that I put editors through the wringer. Their skills truly humble me.
I have to thank Tahereh Savafi for fifteen-plus years of writerly cat herding and unrelenting support. And thanks to all the members of the Ubergroup.
Thanks to Adrienne S. Beck, Meg Hunter, and, of course, Blair for the road trip to Waverley Hills. So much fun!
Thanks to Max Booth of Ghoulish Books in San Antonio, and to Sean O’Connor of Macabre Daily for keeping the horror flame alive.
Thanks to Lorenzo Martinez for the horror coffee talk and writing ideas.
And as always, thanks and love to my husband, Henry Reynolds.
