Chapter 8: SHAMEEK - A Street King's Widow
By Jenica J.
Since Nikki and I had our little disagreement the other day, she had my dick in her mouth every day and she was spending the night no matter how far the job was from my place. I grabbed her hair with one hand, and I pulled from the blunt. Nikki was fine as fuck and had the brains to match. She said I was being distant since the death of my brother, but I knew what she really needed was dick. My mind hadn't been on pussy, but since she wanted her throat bruised, I was here to handle it.
“Tighten that mouth some,” I told her.
Nikki did as I asked her. Soon after, I nutted in her mouth. She swallowed it right down, stood up, and sat right on my dick. Nikki made sure to take her birth control faithfully. We didn’t have to worry about pregnancy scares. Nikki never wanted kids, and I was okay with her decision. We weren’t in a committed relationship and I wasn’t the man to police a woman’s body. She was free to do what was best for her.
“I love you,” Nikki said as she slowly rode my dick.
It was shit like this that made me want to wife her. We had become so familiar with each other that I don’t think another woman could please me the way she could. I taught her how I liked my dick sucked and how I liked my dick rode.
“Tell me you love me, Shameek,” she said, tightening her pussy around my dick.
“You kno’ I love yo’ ass, Nikki,” I said, grabbing her neck and meeting her thrust.
My phone started going off, but I wasn’t stopping. We were in our zone, and I didn’t give a fuck what was going on right now. I was in some pussy. The more we fucked each other, the more my phone buzzed. The shit was starting to distract me and take me out the moment that my dick was going soft.
“Fuck, Shameek! Just one day,” Nikki said, climbing off me.
I was sitting there with my dick wet and limp, yet my phone was still buzzing. I got up and snatched my phone from the table.
“Hello,” I said, irritated.
“Where the fuck you at?” my pops asked.
“I’m home.”
“Get to the warehouse. I called a meeting an hour ago, so you should’ve been the first muthafucka here.”
“Aight, I’m comin’,” I said, hanging up.
“Really?” Nikki stood there with her arms folded.
“I got you when I come back.”
“I’ll be gone. I’m the only one trying in this…whatever this is.”
“Nikki, not right now. Please! You kno’ what the fuck I do for a livin’.”
She didn’t say shit. She grabbed them clothes and put them on so fast that I didn’t have a chance to say I’m sorry or anything. Her ass peeled off from my driveway without looking back. I slipped my clothes back on and hopped in my truck to head to the warehouse. The warehouse was our meet up spot when we needed to talk without ears or eyes on us. I pulled in behind my pops truck and got out.
“Now you bring yo’ ass in here late. Had to be in some pussy not to answer yo’ phone,” my pops said.
“I was,” I told him.
“The streets think we’re going soft because nobody has been touched since Rah died.”
I swallowed hard. Never have I had a problem ending a muthafuckas life when it came to protecting my family. The difference now was every move we made was under a microscope. Rah’s murder had the whole city watching to see if the King name still carried the same weight or if we were grieving too hard to strike back. Around the folding table stood a handful of men that had been with my Pops since before I was born. All of them niggas had grey hair and no fear in their eyes. These niggas didn’t panic for shit because they had already seen enough wars in their time.
“I’ve heard whispers that niggas think we’re divided since the death of my son.”
“Them niggas just talkin’, Rod,” one of his soldiers said.
“They ain’t just talkin’,” Pops shot back. “Them muthafuckin’ watchin’. Every truck that moves, Royal Flush, the warehouses, and the corners. They clockin’ every move we make.”
“What niggas talkin’? I need a name.”
“If I had a name, don’t you think it would’ve been handled?” my pops asked.
“Only thing I’ve noticed different is on the west side,” another soldier said.
“What about the west side?” I questioned.
“They just bein’ real sneaky and shit. Holdin’ side meetings and shit.”
My pops looked at me. “Y’all can wait outside. I need to speak to my son in private.”
We waited until they were all out.
“I can look into the west side,” I told him. “That’s my territory.”
“I need security beefed up on the compound. I don’t want a muthafucka to even be able to turn on our road.”
“Got it.”
“Royal Flush…”
“Man, since this shit happened to Rah, Grif ain’t lettin’ shit slide through that door. He’s more protective of Kyenna than he was over Rah.”
“Okay, good, good.”
“I got two vehicles on Kyenna whenever she moves. I don’t care if it’s just to get her hair done.”
“Good. I can’t have anything happen to her. She is the only one with the recipe to Royal Flush,” Pops said.
“While I got you here. Kyenna had two inspectors pop up on her at Flush.”
“And?”
“She handled it. By the time she was done, they were apologizing to her. Said something about proper paperwork. She had the permits ready and the deed with her name on it.”
“I love her,” my pops said. “That’s why I don’t want anyone gettin’ in her way. She can do this shit in her sleep.”
I was listening to him brag on Kyenna, but my attention was on my phone and the text that had just come through.
Dispatch: Truck twenty-two went off grid on Old Swamp Road.
“Put a pin in this conversation. I need to go and handle something real quick,” I told my Pops.
“Everything good?”
“Nothin’ I can’t handle,” I said, sending a text while walking out.
When I got in my truck, I dialed a number and pulled off. I wasn’t far from the location. I made sure to vet my drivers, but every now and then one would slide through.
“What you need, Shameek?”
“I need the drone in the air. I’ll send you the coordinates. I’m not far from there, but I need the drone to know what the fuck I’m goin’ into.”
“Send the coordinates.”
I got to the first light and sent the location. We had one drop-off in that area that we used. For the truck location and the trackers to just go off on the truck wasn’t something that just happens. You had to physically do it. I had trackers placed on at least two pallets on every truck. We moved too much weight for a pussy nigga to ever think they got one up on me. By the time I got to the location, the truck was nowhere in sight for at least the three miles I rode. My phone dinged, letting me know the pallet had been activated. I then sent the updated coordinates to my tech guy. It was too much shit going on, and for someone to steal from me wasn’t something I was in the mood for. I thought I had made myself clear during their orientation of the repercussions of fucking with me. My tech guy called a few minutes later after I had pulled over and waited for my next move.
“They’re about five miles away. Looks like they are unloading truck twenty-two and loading another box truck.”
“Stay up high. I don’t want to alarm them. Let me know when the unmarked box truck pulls off and what direction they goin’ in.”
While we were talking, Nikki called, and I ignored her call. She called again. I clicked over.
“Nikki, I got some shit goin’ on right now, and I can’t be on the phone wit’ you. This shit needs my full attention.”
“Will I see you tonight? You owe me.”
“Can I call you back? Baby, please, I need to get off the phone.”
She hung up in my face.
“Fuck, man. I’m back,” I said when I clicked back over.
“They are moving north away from you. Truck twenty-two is moving back towards your way. You have a turn coming up in about two miles to the right. If you take that and continue that road for another two miles and hit that curve to the left, you should meet right up with the unmarked truck and miss truck twenty-two.”
“Bet.”
I followed his directions as he stayed on the phone tracking the box truck with my shit on it. I would handle my driver later because I couldn’t wait to hear the lie the muthafucka came up with. Right now, I needed my product back.
“I see you. The truck is about a mile up the road.”
It felt like it took me forever to get to that truck. A part of me wanted to know where my shit was going, but I didn’t have the time to be going in unchartered territory. We were outside of the city at this point, and I didn’t know who or what I was up against.
“Aight, fly in closer and take the back tires out.”
I paid his nerdy ass a lot of money to sit at home and utilize his fucking devices he would never use legally. I fell back in a few yards because when he blew them bitches out, I knew the truck was going to lose control. He took the back tires out, and the driver swerved trying to get control of the truck, but it was too heavy, and he ended up almost flipping into the ditch.
“’Preciate you. Stay around for a few more minutes. I need you to be my eyes above. I already got another truck en route to me and they should be here shortly. I need the roads blocked off so no one can travel this road while we make this switch. Can you make that happen for me?”
“It ain’t like I’m doing shit else.”
I pulled behind the truck and grabbed my gun. This was the lifestyle my brother wanted no part of, but was dragged into it for a short part of his life. That was the part that Averie always mentioned. You had to be grimy and have a don’t give a fuck about a nigga life attitude in this shit. I snatched the driver’s side door open to see a woman knocked out on the steering wheel. On the passenger side, I could see a male barely clinging to life. I had a better chance with the bitch. I put a bullet in the nigga and took the seat belt off the woman and dragged her ass out the truck.
Minutes later, I had two dump trucks, a box truck, and a tow truck. The dump trucks were solely for appearance. They were dressed up like road workers to distract anyone that was able to slide through the roadblocks ahead.
“What you need, Meek?” one of my boys asked.
“Chain this bitch up and throw her in the back of the dump truck.”
The other box truck backed up and we went to work to switch the pallets. We worked as quick as we could. The sun was going down, and I needed to get back to the city.
“Aye, take this nigga and this truck and get rid of it. I don’t want shit left of this muthafucka. Not a bone or a piece of fuckin’ metal from this raggedy muthafucka.”
“I got you, Bruh.”
Before I could get back in my truck and pull off, one of my dispatchers was calling.
“What?”
“Shameek, truck twenty-two just pulled back up to the warehouse.”
“Oh yeah.”
“Yeah, said he got robbed.”
I hated a lying muthafucka. If he was dumb enough to think I would believe that, he deserved to get what was coming to him.
“I’ll be there in an hour,” I said, hanging up.
I followed the dump truck and box truck back to the warehouse. To make the shit believable, I had them wait outside until I signaled for them to come in. I needed to have a conversation with my driver first just to see if the nigga had the heart to tell me the truth. As soon as I pulled in and the doors closed behind my truck, he ran up to me.
“Meek, they got me, Bruh.”
I didn’t say anything. I got out and slammed my door. He had caused so much bullshit for the day. I went from getting my dick rode to meeting my pops at another warehouse to discuss business to chasing down my fucking product. Now that I had my shit back, I was able to let my Pops know why I had to leave in such a hurry.
“Who got you?” I asked calmly.
“I don’t know who it was. They came out of nowhere.”
“How many was it?” I leaned against my truck, waiting for the next lie.
“I couldn’t tell, really.”
I pushed off my truck and walked past him to climb into the box truck. The bitch was empty, but I acted like I was shocked.
“They jumped out with rifles and shit. Took my phone and all. Then they put some wand shit around the truck and went to pulling out the GPS on that bitch.”
“What they look like?”
“They had masks on.”
I stared at him. He couldn’t look me in my eyes.
“Did you get hurt?” I looked him over.
“Nah, they just told me to shut the fuck up, and I’ll live.”
“As long as you made it out alive.”
The relief that crossed his face told me everything I needed to know. This nigga thought I was going to believe that they moved pallets of the purest cocaine in minutes from one truck to the next and he didn’t get hurt. He thought I was a damn fool, I guess.
“Aye, bring that bitch in here,” I yelled.
The doors lifted, and the beeping from the dump truck backing up caused my driver’s eyes to get big. By now, I knew that hoe was up with a banging headache from hitting her head on the steering wheel.
“What bitch?” he asked.
The tailgate lifted, and two of my boys dragged her out by her arms. Her feet scraped across the concrete while she screamed out in pain. I looked at my driver, and his facial expression had now changed.
“Liyah?”
“There it is,” I said.
“What the fuck did y’all do to her?”
“Nah, it’s what you did when you brought a bitch in between my business. I didn’t do a fuck thang,” I told him.
He tried to take a step towards her, but I pulled my gun out and put it to his head.
“So, you kno’ her?”
“Nah… no, I don’t know her.”
“Hmph, I had no idea she was connected to you. I was gonna let her ass go thinkin’ she got caught up in nigga shit until you called the hoe by her name. Now let’s start the story over.”
“I told you I got robbed.”
“By her?” I waved my gun at her.
“I don’t know her.”
My frustration got the best of me, so I put a bullet in between the bitch eyes.
“Shameek, nooo,” he cried out. “We got a daughter together.”
“Nigga, who robbed me?”
“The King legacy is weak with Rah dead…”
I didn’t even let him finish. As soon as my brother’s name slipped out of his mouth, I put a bullet in it. The nigga whole throat exploded. Since everyone wanted bodies to drop, he was going to be the first example.
