Acknowledgments - Purge With My Demons
By Aimee-Jo Hunter
First of all I want to thank my husband, Sam. This book wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for you constantly telling me that I could do it. Babe, your neverending support means so much. I quite literally can’t put it into words. I love you to the edge of the universe. You’re my rock. You can also thank him for that “hog” line in chapter 4 - that was all him, I had nothing to do with it. *throws hands up in defense*
Jordan, my own personal Giordana. I seriously couldn’t do life without you, even though you’re a traitor and moved away you were the first person I knew I wanted to share this book with. Books are our thing together and I feel like you have become like a sister to me. You’ve read every single version of this book and I’m so glad you are here at the end.
Next, Letizia, not only did you become the inspiration for Ashton but you were my sounding board for absolutely everything in this book. You probably know these characters as well as I do by now. My tiny ball of energy that never fails to make me smile. I owe you so much when it comes to teaching me how to do this author thing.
Cyn. I don’t even know how to put into words how much I appreciate you and your friendship. You’re my best friend and when I tell you I don’t know that I would have finished this book if you didn’t kick my ass while we almost died writing Disco Fever…I’d be lying. Bro we legit both were knocking on death’s door. Thank you for your advice, your guidance, your wisdom, everything. You’re an inspiration every single day. You’re why I wanted to start writing, I hope you know that I will always remind you that you are a bad ass.
To my alpha/beta readers - Erin, Emma, Tina, and Audrey. I can’t begin to explain how helpful you all were in your feedback, critiques, and hype. I love y’all so goddamn much.
I want everyone to know that Emma is a genius and a magician. She curated the playlist for this book. It’s absolute perfection. If I would have given you a playlist, it would have been “Sleep Token - Complete Collection” on Spotify which isn’t very original. Emma did much better!
Last but certainly not least, to the readers…thank you! You took a chance on my debut solo novel. As an indie author it means so much that you took the time to read the words I put in a Google Doc that have lived in my head for years. I hope you enjoyed it!
With love from a swamp,
Aimee-Jo
