Return of the Runebound Professor

Noah Vines died. He was expecting the afterlife to be profound, or at least peaceful—not an eternity of waiting in a bureaucratic cosmic queue. But before he can even figure out where he's headed, he's abruptly yanked into another world and shoved into the body of Vermil Linwick, a corrupt, despised professor at the prestigious Arbitage Magic Academy. There's just one problem: Vermil was murdered, and whoever killed him is probably going to try again. Fortunately for Noah, he didn't just inherit a dead man's life and a hostile classroom of magical prodigies—he also acquired a mysterious runic system and an ability to loop back upon death. Now, armed with his wits, runic magic, and the stubborn refusal to die twice, Noah must survive cutthroat academic politics, unravel a deadly conspiracy, and master the arcane arts to become the strongest professor Arbitage has ever seen.
